Your Next Steps
Prep with Intention, Not Perfection
This week is all about easing in, not stressing out. So here are a few gentle reminders and tips to help you arrive feeling rested, confident, and ready to create something unforgettable
Whether you’re a planner or a go-with-the-flow type, these tips are here to support you, not stress you out.
~ Do’s ~
✅ Get a Manicure & Pedicure – Hands and feet show up more than you think. Clean, simple nails go a long way.
✅ Get a Good Night’s Rest – Your energy and mood matter more than any makeup. A rested body photographs beautifully.
✅ Bring a Playlist – Music that makes you feel alive = instant confidence boost during the shoot.
✅ Moisturize Your Skin – Glowing, hydrated skin always wins.
✅ Bring Multiple Wardrobe Options – We’ll play and discover what feels best once you're here.
✅ Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate – Aim to drink a little more water each day leading up to your shoot. It helps your skin glow, reduces puffiness, and boosts energy.
✅ Eat Something Before You Arrive – Don’t skip meals to feel “smaller.” You’ll feel more grounded and energized if you’re nourished.
✅ Stretch That Morning – A few light stretches help release nerves and tension, especially in your neck, shoulders, and back. Your body will thank you during posing.
✅ Set an Intention – Take five quiet minutes to write down how you want to feel during your session. (Confident, peaceful, wild, etc.) It changes everything.
✅ Wear Loose Clothing to the Studio – This helps avoid red lines from tight elastic or seams before the shoot.
✅ Double Check What You’re Bringing – Lingerie, accessories, hair tools, any special items you want featured — having them gathered the night before eases the morning of.
✅ Leave the Rest to Us – You don’t need to know what to do, just show up. We’ve got the rest.
~ Dont’s ~
❌ No Fresh Haircuts Right Before – Fresh cuts can misbehave in front of the camera.
❌ No Fake Tans or Botox Right Before – These can appear patchy, shiny, or uneven in photos.
❌ No Negative Self-Talk – This is a no-judgment zone. Speak to yourself the way you’d speak to someone you love.
❌ Don’t Try New Skin Products Last Minute – That “miracle” mask could turn into irritation. Stick with what your skin already loves.
❌ Don’t Panic-Exercise or Starve Before the Shoot – You don’t need to earn this experience with suffering. You already deserve to be seen.
❌ Don’t Wax or Shave the Day Before (if you’re sensitive) – Try to do this 2–3 days in advance to avoid redness or bumps, especially for more intimate shots.
❌ Don’t Overbook Yourself the Day Before & After – Give yourself the gift of a light, restorative day. Emotional and physical energy matter.
❌ Don’t Apologize for Anything – Not your body, not your nerves, not your past. You’re showing up. And that’s powerful as hell.
